41st Annual Good Neighbor Dinner

Tuesday, September 15th, 6:00pm

The 2025 Good Neighbor Recipient is:

Melinda Georges, SHS Clinical School Counselor

Melinda was the impetus for partnering with the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center to create a food pantry at Stonington High School.

Working with the PNC’s Executive Director, Melinda personally receives frozen meals and snacks, delivered weekly from the PNC. She then offers them to the students, either using a moveable cart or by a designated food pantry which includes refrigeration and a microwave, allowing students to make a meal at their leisure.

The food is available to the 543 students who attend Stonington High School.

The Good Neighbor Dinner will support PNC programs and celebrate our volunteers! The Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which serves people in Stonington, North Stonington, and Westerly. The PNC offers a Food Pantry, currently serving 2,349 people, Weekend Backpack of food for children, free hygiene items and diapers, community meals, community garden, health clinics, thrift store, heating/utilities assistance, and support groups. Our senior center offers lunches, exercise and enrichment classes, trips, and a weekly speaker series. The Senior Transportation Program provides free door-to-door rides.
