Dear Friend of the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center:

Below you will find a brief summary of some of the services that the PNC provided last year:

THE PNC PROVIDED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

  • The PNC distributed $60,000.00 in direct financial assistance
  • 216 people received rental, heat and utility assistance

THE PNC PROVIDED FOOD ASSISTANCE (Pantry patrons increased by 9% from last year)

  • 1,777 people enrolled to receive weekly food at the PNC food pantry (502 were children)
  • 445,612 pounds of food, valued at $742,417.00 were distributed from our food pantry
  • 2,600 pounds of vegetables were grown in our on-site garden
  • 555 people received Thanksgiving and 470 people received Christmas food/turkeys
  • Free, bi-monthly community breakfasts were hosted by the Pawcatuck Lions
  • Free, bi-weekly coffee hours were hosted by ARC volunteers

THE PNC HELPED CHILDREN

  • Babies received free diapers, wipes, baby formula and baby food each week
  • 357 children received Christmas toys and gift cards
  • 299 children enrolled in the Weekender Backpack Program to receive food each week
  • 104 children received free back to school supplies

THE PNC HELPED SENIORS

  • 291 persons, age 55+ participated in Senior Activities programs (+ 9% from last year)
  • Senior programs included exercise, social, volunteer and nutritional activities
  • Meals on Wheels were delivered to 50 homebound seniors
  • 99 people received 2,514 door-to-door rides from the PNC’s Transportation program
  • 6,545 sales of affordable clothing and housewares were made in our thrift store
